There is no music library on X. Where does the risk come from?
Exactly there. Because the platform provides no brand-safe catalog, audio in your video posts was imported — from a production library, an agency edit, or a track someone simply liked. Each of those needs a license that covers your use.
The video was only up for a day. Does that reduce the exposure?
Not reliably. Statutory damages attach to the use of the work, and enforcement teams capture evidence from live posts. Deleting later does not undo a use that was already published and observed.
We reused a video that performed well on TikTok. Is that safe?
That is one of the most common failure patterns. A track licensed for use inside TikTok's app is not licensed for X, so re-posting the same edit moves it outside the license that covered it.
