YouTube Music Copyright Check
A full audit of your brand's YouTube Shorts for unlicensed music — every Short you have published, back to your first upload
How We Audit Your YouTube Channel
Audit Every Upload
We check every Short on your channel, back to your first upload. No channel access, no credentials, nothing to approve with IT.
Identify Real Exposure
A Content ID claim is not the same thing as a legal claim. We separate the two, so your team can see which videos carry genuine commercial risk.
Deliver A Report
You receive a complete channel review with links to every high-risk video, the track identified, and a recommended action for each.
YouTube Copyright Questions
Well, we've got answers
Can you cover long-form YouTube videos?
Our YouTube audits focus on Shorts, as that is where most violations exist. YouTube does a good job of policing copyright on long-form content. We can provide a custom long-form YouTube audit — contact us for details.
Doesn't YouTube's Content ID already handle this for us?
Content ID tells you what YouTube has matched on YouTube. It is a platform enforcement system, not a license, and it does not tell you whether your brand had the right to use a recording commercially. A video can sit on your channel with no claim against it and still be unlicensed use.
We only got a claim, not a lawsuit. Is that a problem?
A platform claim and a rights holder's legal claim are different instruments with different consequences. A claim may simply redirect revenue; a legal claim can seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per work. Treating the first as the ceiling of your exposure is how brands misjudge risk.
Does music cleared for one platform cover our YouTube channel?
Usually not. Each major platform licenses music for use on itself. A track taken from an in-app library on one platform and re-posted to YouTube leaves that license behind — which makes cross-posting one of the most common ways a compliant brand becomes a non-compliant one.
What about videos our agency or influencers uploaded?
They are in scope. Rights holders have pursued brands over content posted by paid creators as well as by the brand itself, and it is the brand that has been named as defendant. Our audit covers campaign content alongside your owned channel.
Do you need access to our YouTube account?
No. We audit public content only — no logins, no OAuth grants, nothing installed inside your systems. We see exactly what a rights holder's enforcement team sees, which is the surface that matters.
Do you offer ongoing YouTube monitoring, or is this a one-off audit?
Both. The audit is a one-off review of every Short already on the channel; monitoring is a subscription that re-checks it on a weekly or monthly cycle. YouTube rewards monitoring more than most platforms, because a Content ID claim can land on a video months after it was uploaded — so the channel you cleared in January is not necessarily the channel you have in June.
