Doesn't fair dealing or fair use cover us?
Sometimes, and it is highly fact-specific. It is a defense raised after a claim rather than a blanket permission, and it rarely covers music used as a soundtrack rather than as the subject of the reporting. We flag what needs a lawyer's judgment instead of guessing at it.
We cover live events. Does the music in our footage count?
It is in scope. Coverage of a concert, awards show, red carpet or sporting fixture captures performances and PA music that your accreditation does not license for social publication. We separate this from content with a defensible editorial basis rather than treating the whole archive as one problem.
We publish hundreds of posts a week. Can you keep up?
That volume is the reason to automate the review rather than an obstacle to it. We audit the full archive first, then monitor on a weekly or monthly cycle depending on your publishing rate.
Our freelancers and contributors produce a lot of this. Who carries that?
The publication carries the exposure. Contributor agreements allocate responsibility internally; they do not change who a rights holder chooses to pursue.
