Instagram Music Copyright Check
A full audit of your brand's Instagram account for unlicensed music — image posts, carousels, Reels, and influencer campaigns
How We Audit Your Instagram Account
Audit Every Post
We check image posts, carousels and Reels across your whole history, including regional and sub-brand accounts, plus the influencer content you have paid for.
Identify Real Exposure
Meta's music licensing treats business accounts differently from personal ones. We assess what your account was actually entitled to use, not what was visible in the picker.
Deliver A Report
You receive a complete profile review with links to every high-risk post, the track identified and a recommended action for each.
Instagram Copyright Questions
Well, we've got answers
Do you audit image and carousel posts, or only Reels?
All three — image posts, carousel posts, and video (Reels). Music can be added to a still image or a carousel just as it can to a Reel, and those two formats are often overlooked in a copyright audit because teams check their video and assume the rest is safe. We audit every format rather than sampling one and inferring the others.
Do you cover Instagram Stories and Highlights?
No. Our Instagram audits cover image posts, carousel posts, and video (Reels). Stories sit outside that scope — they disappear within 24 hours — and Highlights are saved Stories, so they fall outside it too.
The music was in Instagram's own library. Doesn't that make it licensed?
Not for every account. Meta's licensing distinguishes business from personal use, and a brand profile typically reaches a narrower catalog. Availability in the picker is not evidence of a license covering commercial use.
Our agency posted most of this. Does that shift the liability?
Usually not in practice. Rights holders have pursued the brand whose channel carried the content, regardless of who scheduled it. Your agency's process matters, but it does not transfer the exposure.
We cross-post the same Reel to Facebook and TikTok. Is that fine?
Meta licenses Instagram and Facebook together, so that pairing is often safer — but TikTok and YouTube are separate. A track cleared inside Meta does not travel to another platform's app.
Do you offer ongoing Instagram monitoring, or is this a one-off audit?
Both. The audit covers everything already on the account; monitoring is a subscription that re-checks it weekly or monthly. Weekly suits brands running continuous influencer activity, where campaign Reels go live without anyone clearing the audio first. Monthly is usually enough if you post mostly owned content on a planned calendar.
